NEW! Food Safety Apps: These apps will educate and train mushroom farm and packing-house employees on best practices, in light of new Food Safety Modernization Act regulations, OSHA Alliance initiatives and the ever-changing workforce. The two sets of interactive apps are available in English and Spanish. Employees complete a short quiz at the end of each app or module to demonstrate their knowledge of key topics.
The Basic Training Poster: The Basic Training poster and commitment form are intended to be used when employees are initially hired. It is not a substitute for the more comprehensive training provided by the Mushroom Food Safety Training Kit. The poster pictures 15 food safety areas in which employees must be trained upon hiring. The commitment form has short, written descriptions of each of the areas on the poster.
The Food Safety Training Flip Chart: The Food Safety Training Flip Chart is a 68 page, full color presentation with five lessons. This training tool can be used in many locations around the farm. For each of these areas, the kit will help the instructor to explain and demonstrate appropriate procedures and practices for lowering the risk of product contamination.
