The mushroom industry’s food safety program serves to strengthen the commitment of growers, packers and shippers to provide the consumer with the highest level of confidence that the mushrooms they purchase are safe to eat.
The Mushroom Good Agricultural Practices (MGAP) program is a commodity specific set of industry-wide food safety standards and procedures for growing, harvesting and shipping fresh mushrooms that growers can use to enhance and document safe mushroom growing practices.
